Agri-Norcold is a Northern European logistics company providing Cold Storage and distribution services for frozen goods. They approached Sentispec looking for a way to improve stock accuracy.
Covering a third of Denmark’s total cold storage capacity, Agri-Norcold is the food industry’s service partner within cold storage, frozen food handling and food storage.
Agri-Norcold has 10 cold storage terminals with a total of 1,000,000 m3 of storage and a packaging plant. Centrally located in Vejen, Agri-Norcold has Northern Europe’s largest cold storage facilities.
The Sentispec Inventory solution offering automated stock taking was deployed in Kolding, which has 45,000 pallets capacity.
Stock taking is a manual, labour intensive, costly operation, and particularly in cold storage facilities with higher labour costs and workplace regulations limiting in-facility workloads.
As a service provider this Sentispec customer is contracted to hold and manage stock respectively for their own customers. Therefore stock accuracy is crucial for total transparency.
They conduct regular audits, routinely surveying a vast amount of stored product and perishable stock. Substantial resources are dedicated to these routine stocktaking routines on an ongoing basis across all their regional warehouses.
Since working with Sentispec, to develop and install Sentispec Inventory an AI automated stock taking and inventory tracking in their Vejen logistics centre, Agri-Norcold have found that speed and accuracy of their stock audit has improved dramatically.
Stock accuracy improved to such an extent that they gained a higher level of stock transparency, which they can now offer to their customers. In turn, their customers can be more confident than ever in their distribution and inventory calculations.
This customer also holds stock for customers, with regular audits, and a substantial amount of resources are dedicated to stocktaking
across all regional warehouses.
Deploying Sentispec Automated Stock in their Kolding logistics centre has reduced the cost of stock counting by as much as 80%.
In addition it has cut back on overtime costs, and delivered increased stock transparency to their customers, and overall been a key initiative to improving stock accuracy. Additional benefits are that it has reduced the labour that is required to search for misplaced pallets.

There were several additional benefits that added to the achievements of the project.
Whilst the introduction of the Sentispec Inventory solution has enabled them to cut back on overtime, they have also been able to provide their customers with increased stock transparency in real time. What is more they have reduced time and labour spent searching for misplaced pallets which has added to the ability to control movement and visibility of stock within the warehouse.
Sentispec Access, an AI logistics platform providing Automation and Transparency through Computer Vision, works by leveraging data gathered through various cameras – security cameras, mobile phones, etc. By mounting video cameras on forklifts, customers can replace manual barcode scanning with an AI based solution which outputs data on shelf and slot contents, by scanning barcodes on shelves and pallets. Sentispec Access allows for up to 95% cost reduction in stocktaking operations, whilst reducing labour spent searching for misplaced pallets.
“Our solution is innovative and practical in that it is easy to deploy with minimal change to existing facilities and processes. It just works.”
Andreas Claudi CEO, Sentispec Aps
